Evolution in the bindery helping to reduce paper waste Products in all industries evolve. Usually the requirement for change is driven by the need to be different or more effective. Boost in the use of certified fibre at Mondi In 2008 Mondi Uncoated Fine Paper E&I made a huge effort to increase its share of paper with a forest certification (FSC and PEFC). FSC Forest Stewardship council PEFC Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification All measures starting from pulp purchasing, over IT implementations to marketing have been taken in 2008 in order to increase the share of paper with a forest certification from Q4 2008 onwards. With the capacity gain Mondi Uncoated Fine Paper can offer double the amount of certified paper in 2009 compared to 2008. Adding this up with the existing amount of certified office paper this means that Mondi UFP will be able to sell approximately 50% of its production in Syktyvkar, Ruzomberok and Austria in 2009 as certified. We are proud that we achieved to bring our strong efforts in sustainable forestry also on a product level giving the customer the certainty to buy a sustainable product.
