Paper is inherently sustainable. Once a paper product has been finished with, it should not be viewed as “waste” as its lifecycle can continue through recycling. Paper can be recycled between 4-6 times, at which point its fibres become too short for use in papermaking.
The papermaking process is a sustainable cycle that needs both virgin and recycled fibres. Mondi have created their cycle of sustainability. It shows how they use virgin and recycled fibres to create a truly sustainable cycle throughout each stage of the papermaking process. This process promotes a circular economy.
